    • Costly engine overheat damage
    • Reduced engine time to overhaul
  • Failure to observe non-contrasting protective covers during the preflight inspection resulted in costly unscheduled engine removal later on landing Safety suggestions:

Canada'due south airspace: Information on airspace classification and structure

(PDF 376 Kb, 8.25" x 13.2")

Text description of the affiche

This poster shows the airspace classification and structure of Canada's airspace.

This data has been produced past Civil Aviation to provide a better understanding of the airspace classification arrangement in Canada. For more details on the airspace construction and classification, please refer to:

  • Partitioning I of Subpart 601 of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs)
  • Airspace Construction, Classification and Use
  • Designated Airspace Handbook (DAH), TP 1820

Classification

Canadian Domestic Airspace (CDA) has seven classifications. The application of any classification to an airspace structure determines the operating rules, the level of ATC service provided inside the construction and, in some instances, communications and equipment requirements.

Structure

The airspace construction defines the physical dimensions of the elements into which the airspace is divided, such as control zones (CZ), final control areas (TCA), control area extensions (CAE) and airways.

Spark Plug Installation Safety Tips

(PDF 406 Kb, 8.v" x 11")

Text description of the affiche

This poster shows a spark plug and lists these spark plug installation tips:

  • A torque wrench should be used to apply the recommended torque.
  • To avoid plug damage, ever use a six-point socket.
  • Never install a spark plug that has been dropped.
  • To change polarity and equalize the firing habiliment, rotate spark plugs between even- and odd-numbered cylinders, or every bit specified by the engine manufacturer.
  • Audit plug connector well for proper internal sealing and bear witness of gas leaks or flashover. Clean thoroughly the connector well, ignition harness connector final and seal grommet prior to installation.
  • Inspect and make clean the plug threads with a wire brush as necessary.
  • Practice not use a wire brush to clean electrodes.
  • Bank check and close the ground electrode gap to the specified setting by applying pressure level with the correct tool. Do not attempt to open up gaps that are ready as well close.
  • Employ a very small corporeality of anti-seize compound near the firing terminate of the plugs threads, merely never to the first thread. To avoid a build-up of backlog compound, consider this application for every 3rd reinstallation after cleaning erstwhile plugs and for initial installation of new plugs.
  • Employ one new or annealed (if apartment copper type) washer per plug.
  • Practise not add together a washer where a thermocouple is installed.
